Bio

Originally from Alabama, Dr. James moved with his family to the Vail Valley in August of 2015, fulfilling a
lifelong dream of making Colorado his home. He and his wife Kandi (who works as an Optician at Vail
Vision) are high school sweethearts. Together, they’re raised two outstanding children; a daughter
Olivia, who studies Chinese at the University of Western Kentucky, and son Langston, an eighth grader
at Eagle Valley Middle School. Outside of Optometry, he is a sports and outdoors enthusiast with
interests ranging from motocross, to mountain biking, to skiing/snowboarding. When he’s not enjoying
all that this wonderful state has to offer, you can find him cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide (don’t
hold that against him), or spending time with his lovely wife and children. As an Optometrist for almost
20 years, Dr. James is passionate about ocular health, and building meaningful relationships with his
